Which of these "Southern Dishes" is your favorite?

I got this list on Ranker, but I only included main dishes & not sides, desserts, beverages, etc.

Which of the dishes in the poll is your favorite? If you select "Other," please specify.

Tough call, but I am going with Biscuits & Gravy.

Not BBQ or catfish. I am going to have to sit and ponder a bit on the other 3.

Does BBQ include all BBQ? Like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, etc?

The correct answer is fried chicken. All the others are good, but fried chicken is fried chicken.

That's the direction I am leaning, but I am enjoying thinking about my top 3 picks too much to make a choice yet.

Yes. That's why I struggled to answer. BBQ is a very close second for me.

I would go with BBQ or fried chicken if the sides were included. But by itself, I have to go Biscuits & Gravy.

Didn't think about the item by itself. That's a game changer.

Definitely fried chicken, but I really don't think of that as a purely southern thing. I like BBQ, but it's everywhere now, and quite frankly I'm just burnt out on it. The only chicken & dumplins I could ever eat was my Aunt's, and she basically ruined it for me, as I've never had anything close to how she made it. Catfish grosses me out, and biscuits and gravy is an abomination to breakfast food.

I took Biscuits and Gravy, which slightly beat out Chicken and Dumplings.

I would have taken Shrimp and Grits had it made the list.

If that's the case, it's BBQ by a mile. Fried chicken is great, but it's not better than everything that is considered BBQ.

    Other.

October beans slow cooked with a ham bone and served over crumbled up cornbread. Not that cake stuff, either. Real cornbread.

Biscuits and Gravy is a close second.

Right there with you. My "last meal" would be some ribs, baked beans, slaw, and extremely unhealthy variation of potato salad. And a lot of hot bbq sauce that is more vinegar based.
