It's honestly not bad at all once you get into. When I really committed to it, I didn't even miss carbs after about a week.

I eat steak 3 times a week. It's not bad at all.

Once you reach your target weight, you can have a cheat day a week. But massive carbs make you feel crappy.

I lost 65 lbs in about 9 months and have maintained for a year.

It sounds like the Atkins diet. What's different?

The main difference is that Atkins eventually starts adding carbs back into the diet, which for most is more sustainable. With keto, you never introduce carbs back into the rotation.

They are similar. Atkins is more tied to what they call the glycemic index. Which is glucose levels.

Keto is short for ketosis. Which is a metabolic state in which your body burns fats and releases ketones. Glucose levels are important for reaching ketosis.

To me the only thing I really don't like about it is that fruit is pretty much off limits. Weighing 215 instead of 280 is worth the things I had to give up.

I love fish any way you fix it. I buy cod fish, we all like it. My husband dosnt like salmon but I fix it sometimes for my son and I. My husband and son went to our farm in Morgan Co today and are fishing for bluegill

Tomorrow I am cooking chicken and dumplings. I have fresh lettuce out of my garden. I take the broth from the chicken and dumplings and wilt the lettuce and top with green onions. So good and healthier than with bacon grease.

My avatars are visiting from Louisville this weekend. Daughter made a salmon dish with pasta and cream sauce tonight that was superb. If it came out of the water, I’ll eat it and probably love it.
