When our local pool closes on Labor Day. When the last parish summer festival is over. When I attend Oktoberfest. When my wife starts get some elementary sub jobs. When I know what I am doing each and every Friday night until at least mid November. When the English Premier League starts. When the Reds games mean less, but I still watch before I go to bed. When the Bengals start regular season games before their games become meaningless as well. When I start thinking of putting half of my polo shirts in the other closet and getting out some long sleeve shirts. When the Riverfest fireworks finale is over.

In other words, avoid St. Pete.

Nothing like Orlando traffic at rush hour. You just can't beat it!

It's that first morning when you walk out and feel that crisp in the air.

Fall is by far my favorite season and it can't come soon enough.

Luckily, my commute will avoid I4 completely. That was priority #1 when looking for a place.

I am actually in the Citrus Park area near west Tampa. I believe @LongTimeReader resides somewhere around Wesley Chapel, north of Tampa.

Wise move. I was at the Altamonte Springs Mall last Sunday, and it was a nightmare just trying to go over I-4 on Altamonte Springs Road (436) westbound. I had to get on I-4 and go down to 414 to get around the mess. That's how bad it was.

Fall for me is when the snowbirds start arriving to nest.

The needle has shifted for me no longer living in Kentucky, but once conference play in college football begins I feel like Fall has arrived. Other Fall kick starters for me:

    - Starting runs off outside in sleeves with gloves, but shedding said sleeves and gloves a mile or so in
    - First frost (again, different depending upon where I've lived)
    - Annual sinus infection that I get around mid-September
