Played a lot of Monopoly for long rainy days. Sorry was the choice when we did not have as much time.

A game called Scythe. Sort of Risk + Settlers of Catan.

Among more well known ones, probably Clue.

My family was actually more card players than board players though.

Lots of spades, rook, and euchre.

All awesome games. My father favored hearts over all of them, but euchre was always a personal fave.

Stratego was my favorite game while growing, and I still occasionally play online. I've tried for years to become a better chess player, but just can't seem to get beyond the "decent" level. I also always like The Game of Life when I was younger as well. I also like a lot of Avalon Hill games, especially the Sports Illustrated Baseball, football and boxing.

I imagine Mark Stoops likes Yahtzee.

APBA baseball for me too. I spent hours with a friend in particular and then we had a "league" of 4 friends when I was a senior in high school.

We didn't play with the teams as they were but rather had a draft so we had teams of all-stars. Lots of fun. This was in the late '70's. In real life, Greg Luzinski hit 39 home runs that year, George Foster 52, and Rod Carew batted .388. I could recite the stats of all the players at the time. You had to do research to know who to draft.

I purchased the "all-time greats" version so we had the '27 Yankees and Pirates, '34 Cardinals and a few more. We didn't use these very often.
