Sounds a lot like Minnesota. I've had to go there twice for work for extended periods in July. You can't beat the weather there that time of year.

We are planning to go to South Padre Island, TX for a few days. We are going to take our time getting there and spend a few days in Dallas / Ft. Worth and San Antonio along the way.

Just booked a place in Pensacola. First time staying there instead of driving through.

Well, it's finally here...leaving for Yellowstone and points out west, on Friday afternoon. While we have everything we need/want for the trip...it is not packed in the truck. Had hoped to be doing a little bit at a time over the past 2 or 3 days, but with the dang rain (and no garage), little, if anything, has been done. So, tomorrow is going to be a bear after I get home from work.

I'm having some trouble staying focused. Last day at work before I leave tomorrow morning for 10 days in Northern Michigan.

It's going to be 70 degrees and sunny when I arrive tomorrow. Per the forecast, the 74 degrees on Saturday is expected to be as warm as it gets.

This is some serious golf weather. And good lakeside reading weather.

    I'm ready to go.

Hope you don't get flooded out up there, too. From everything I've heard/read, the Great Lakes are up dramatically, which is just amazing to me, given the amount of water it'd take to raise it just one inch.

    Safe travels.

Two days away from departure and I cannot wait. Most of the group is already in northern Norway getting ready for their marathon.

On the way, we have a 6 1/2 hour flight with a 90 minute layover in Reykjavik, before flying another 2 1/2 hours to Oslo. That will at least break it up some.

When doing our two day stopover in Iceland returning, it looks as if the sun will set around midnight and rise before 3:00 a.m. This will take day drinking to a new level.

Don't drink the water. Or mixed drinks. Or eat at the hotel. Or eat anywhere. Or drink anything. Anywhere.

    Have fun.

Florida was supposed to be under water by 2020, not Michigan.

I'm heading generally the same direction on Sunday. We stop off at Ann Arbor for my son's university registration. But then it's all lake, river, forest, and sand dunes. Man! do I have a lot of work to accomplish between now and Sunday afternoon.

Flying out west on July 11th. Flying into San Diego. Will hit the zoo, the wild animal park, take in a game at Petco (Padres vs Braves), spend a couple days at Coronado Beach, drive up or take a train to Anaheim and do Disney Land. I've been numerous times, my wife has gone once, but my kids have never been out west.

Don't know if you're a craft beer drinker or not.

If you are, don't miss a chance to go to Alesmith's tasting room. Arguably the best in the US.
