Those projections look bad, really bad.

Thanks to the current situation and the memories of Hurricane Ikes remnants knocking out power to our home for 2-3 days on my wifes birthday in 2008.

I just bought extra candles, a new propane tank to compliment the other we have, and a couple cases of bottled water.....per Mrs. C1s orders!!! Who knew middle age would bring out her inner-prepper?

She's been tracking this storm with me and noticed that the majority of models have the remnants ending up in our Bluegrass State.

Hats off to Atlanta Motor Speedway who has opened up its campgrounds for evacuees!!! One of my new work team members is heading down to western NC to open up his "summer home" to friends and their families evacuating from Southern Florida. Prayers continue from our family to anyone in this monsters path!!!

Thumbs up to the Florida Attorney General who will be going after price gouging businesses taking advantage of the vulnerability of this situation.....$1000-$25000 fines!

I just watched a local Florida news report that said the latest projection has shifted about 40 miles to the west.

Looks like Tampa could take a direct hit @swamprat

From the point we got on 75 past Valdosta, every gas station was completely overwhelmed and every rest area had more cars than it could ever hold, backing all the way up the interstate on the shoulder. Saw more people peeing on the sides of the road than I could count. The best way to describe it, is to imagine rush hour traffic in a major city that keeps having wrecks and broken down cars in it for 6 hours. Traffic as far as I could see in front of me and behind.

The situation you just stated would cause me to go Michael Douglas in the movie "Falling Down". LOL

Thanks! I'm blessed to have it. The current path looks to go right over it.

    Love our AG, Pam Bondi.

Florida AG Calls Out Chevron: Why Are You Gouging Customers in Irma's Path? | Fox News Insider

"You cannot inflate prices during the time of a hurricane for essential commodities," she said, adding that 45 complaints came in overnight against Chevron gas stations in the region.

She said that in Tallahassee and Tampa, Chevron's prices were average, but in Miami-Dade and Monroe County, customers are reporting inflated prices per-gallon.

Bondi demanded that Chevron executives call her office to explain why they allegedly inflated their prices. Bondi praised airlines for coming together to offer reasonable fares for those trying to escape Irma's path.

"My immediate concern is to get people out of Florida," she said. "[But,] if you're a bad business we are coming after you."

Yea it sucked, but I was more just taken back by it all than frustrated. You see it on tv but you can't get a true appreciation for it till you see it in person. I couldn't be too mad. My vacation was kinda ruined, but it's nothing compared to what all those people evacuating their homes are dealing with. I feel bad for the first responders who are left behind

Tonight, I topped off the truck and the car, then filled 20 gallons worth of gas containers at Costco.

My neighbor and I went out and got 30 gallons of diesel fuel for another neighbors tractor, in case we need to trench or move debris.

The same neighbor said that gas would not be a problem, since his boat has a 100 gallon tank and is full.

I'm doing a final test on my generator tomorrow. If you see a large mushroom cloud over Tampa Bay, you'll know I didn't get the conversion kit put on properly.
