Sweet 16 Brackets for Kentucky High School Junior Chef Competition

    The brackets are up!!

Yes. This is really a thing. And I think it's a pretty cool opportunity for students to get involved and showcase their passion and talents in different areas.

This is a statewide high school cooking competition designed to offer youth the opportunity to learn valuable skills in recipe development, food preparation, marketing, public presentation, organization, teamwork and community involvement.

Additionally, the program will stimulate interest in local agriculture, create a nontraditional market for Kentucky producers, increase quality of products available to school cafeterias, and ultimately increase consumption of produce by Kentucky’s students.

Good luck to all of our student chefs.

I am hoping that I get the call to be an official taster.

That's cool. What do they do with the leftovers? Asking for a friend

Corbin was runner-up two years ago, maybe they can bring home the Gold this year. Good luck to all the teams!

Clearly there is no "playing up" rule in Junior Chef!! I hope the kids from Beaumont Middle are big enough to compete, or are they all hold-backs?

Great idea! Do they make a recipe book afterwards?

    So who won?
I know Montgomery Co. won last year. Did they repeat?
