It's because it's a church built by German-speaking immigrants in the traditionally German "Over The Rhine" neighborhood. Christian Moerlein Brewery...the first brewery in the United States to brew beer in accordance with the 1516 Bavarian Purity Laws...was only blocks away. That area used to be German-Cincinnati ground zero, although it isn't so much any more. But yeah, I guess that's just keeping with tradition.

But that's my problem... not one single German immigrant who lived in that neighborhood in the 19th and early 20th centuries EVER heard a German mass. They'd only have ever heard it in Latin.

Since the special lady started working here while I was still doing my thing in Louisville, we've been to see Sufjan Stevens at the Aronoff and St. Vincent at Taft. I liked both venues a lot.

I still remember the time we dropped our 16 year-old son off at Bogart’s for a concert. I think it was the Mighty Mighty Bossmen. When we picked him up after the show, he told us that he had “slipped in beer”.

Quote from the company that owns it:

Due to popular demand, SkyStar – North America’s largest portable observation wheel, will be extending its stay at The Banks until June 16, 2019.

Great place to grab a beer or two while you shop around. Very solid craft beers for cheaper than a lot of places.

I think you have to go to Rhinegeist & Madtree at least once. Plenty of other, smaller and very solid breweries too.

I'd say that Bobby Mackey's in Newport, KY is worth at least one trip.

I've done Rhinegeist before. Actually going to Madtree next weekend. I live down the road from a place called Streetside that was ok, I really liked 50 West when I went there and my favorite might be Woodburn Brewery in Walnut Hills just on quality of beer alone.

I've gotta say, I'm really crushing this list, you guys. At this rate, I'll be a chili-chomping, goetta-frying, Mike-Brown-cursing Cincinnati resident in no time.

You have to pick a side in the Crosstown Shootout, attend the Opening Day event down at the Banks (wear red), and ask everyone you meet where they went to high school.
