I realize that this thread is about NKY Fish Frys, but I just had a great lunch in downtown Cincy at Cafe Americana which is in the Federal Building. Only pain was having to go through the building security (which is like the TSA). It was worth it. Everything in the picture was a total of $6.95.

There is a link to their menu. Not quite as bad as I remember but anywhere from .50 to $2 more than what you see at the lower cost fish fry's. Their Holy Haddock fish sandwich is the one that is about $2 more ($7.75 sandwich, $9.75 platter) but they have a lower priced fish sandwich/platter that is only about $1 more ($6.75/$8.75) than what I think you will see at other places. But it is very good so if you want to pay for quality, I think you will like it.
    Thank you, it looks great.

And I see on the menu they were voted the best fish fry in greater Cincinnati.

For the folks in Florence/Union area: Immaculate Heart of Mary is excellent and St. Tim's is very good. Both have eat in as well as carry out. You can stay in your car, as they have kids coming to your car to take your order.

Is the fish for Mary Queen of Heaven provided by Izzy's? I thought I heard that several years ago.

I don’t know. i would find that surprising.

I think that most of these church fish fries prepare their own I know that at Immaculate Heart of Mary, as soon as the last student comes throgh rhe lunch line on a Friday, a group of volunteers takes over the kitchen and begins the Fish Fry prep. They make the batter and fry their own, as well as make all the other entrees.

I don't think so. One of the owners of Izzy's (aka "The Codfather") helped them upgrade everything to the level it is at today. I believe the Holy Haddock fish is not a packaged fish. It is battered by hand on site and homemade.
