Jan 3, 19, 01:36 PM #17^ This is a good point. That brings me to a question. I am ignorant of laws concerning the defense of a pet.
My son actually had a hunting knife with him. He was not able to get it out at the time because he was trying to push the Great Dane away. But had this gone on, and he saw it better to let go and pull out his knife, is it legal to kill the aggressor in protection of your own pet? What ramifications would have ensued had he injured or killed the Great Dane?

Remember, much better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

That makes me mad, and the same sort of situation happened to me and my pup a couple years ago. For a while, I was carrying one of my hunting knives with me on walks just in case it happened again.
I’d rather kill your dog than have to take mine to get stitches.

See, I still don’t know if I fit or not. I have to care for my pet, so I try not to make plans that keep me gone for more than 12 hours. If I have to, then I arrange for a friend to go take care of her. Does that mean my life revolves around my dog? I guess so.
I’m not sure about equating with people. I’m not sure that I know what that means.

For example, I know people who literally won’t go anywhere, except work, without their dog. They won’t put them in kennels for weekend trips, won’t be away from them for four hours, much less twelve.
As for equating them to people, some cherish an animals life as much as a humans. I think that is beyond absurd.
