And while your on the west side of town, if you are in the mood for a burger and shake, I would suggest trying The Big Dipper. It's next door to the Moonlite. The buiding is slightly larger than a food truck and they haven't updated anything in the last 50 or 60 years but there is a reason that the drive thru line is often backed up out into Parrish Ave.Advertisement

Feb 10, 18, 12:27 AM #18Held out all day on eating (save for a candy bar), and stopped at Moonlite as soon as I got into town about 4pm local time. I really gorged myself big-time, but couldn't help myself. I try to avoid buffets if I can help it, as it was very hard to lose that weight over the past few years. But I made an exception this time and nearly made it through two plates plus burgoo plus some banana pudding and cherry cobbler. I forgot how good their sauce was. May swing through and pick some up to take back with me.
By the time I checked into the hotel, I had the Itis so bad that it was all I could do to keep from falling asleep right then and there. But I powered through it and got through a hard day's work. I'll probably have to skip Old Hickory tomorrow as I have to drive back after work, and it will be late.
