I booked the Sleep Inn out on W60, which puts Moonlight somewhat nearby, but my work site is near Old Hickory. I may do up both. I'm looking to get there early enough Friday to get late lunch at one of them, then check in to the hotel.

Thanks for all the suggestions, folks!
If you just want one thing in particular, say mutton than Old Hickory has the better meat in my opinion. However, if you want to be able to try a little of everything with plenty of sides / dessert, etc. than Moonlite is the way to go as Old Hickory does not have a buffet. Best you can do is a 3 meat plate.

And while your on the west side of town, if you are in the mood for a burger and shake, I would suggest trying The Big Dipper. It's next door to the Moonlite. The buiding is slightly larger than a food truck and they haven't updated anything in the last 50 or 60 years but there is a reason that the drive thru line is often backed up out into Parrish Ave.

Looks like you are correct. For some reason I was thinking there were a few there.

Let me tell you something, brother!!!!

Held out all day on eating (save for a candy bar), and stopped at Moonlite as soon as I got into town about 4pm local time. I really gorged myself big-time, but couldn't help myself. I try to avoid buffets if I can help it, as it was very hard to lose that weight over the past few years. But I made an exception this time and nearly made it through two plates plus burgoo plus some banana pudding and cherry cobbler. I forgot how good their sauce was. May swing through and pick some up to take back with me.

By the time I checked into the hotel, I had the Itis so bad that it was all I could do to keep from falling asleep right then and there. But I powered through it and got through a hard day's work. I'll probably have to skip Old Hickory tomorrow as I have to drive back after work, and it will be late.
