    Chicken Wings/Buffalo Wings

So by my count there are over a dozen old threads on BGP dedicated to wings and wings restaurants. I thought I'd try seeing about a "master thread" of sorts, just for any and all discussion, since wings are about as ubiquitous as anything else out there.

What's your favorite spot for wings, overall?

What's your favorite spot in Kentucky, or in your city/area?

What's your favorite wings restaurant (i.e. - restaurants that specialize specifically in wings)?

Opinions on fried wings versus smoked wings?

Opinions on traditional versus boneless wings?

What are the dos and don'ts of making/serving/eating wings?

What are some restaurants that have other good "buffalo chicken" dishes besides wings?

Anyone have their own recipes for wings? There is one recipe that I know of previously on here, and it's included in the BluegrassPreps Cook Book. ...or any other buffalo chicken recipes?

You see wings as soon as you reach the web page. They even have WING in their phone number!

My personal favorite 5 spots around Louisville, in no particular order:

Frankfort Avenue Beer Depot - Smokehouse wings. They don't fry them after smoking, and they don't offer "Buffalo sauce", but the hot sauce is really good in a slightly different way. GREAT wings!

River City Drafthouse - The wings are big, and they fry them perfectly. The hot sauce is a solid amount of heat in a traditional Buffalo flavor, and if you like heat, the "Gorilla Warfare" Caribbean jerk sauce is awesome.

The Back Door - The Back Door knows what they're doing when it comes to bar food, and their wings are solid, and I really like getting Buffalo style, hot, with the Cajun dust on it.

Momma's Mustard, Pickles & BBQ - They have a BBQ dry rub that they put on the wings before they smoke them, then they fry them, and then dust them again right after frying. They're not wet like usual chicken wings, but man oh man are they good!

Charim Korean - The crispiness of the wings at Charim is completely off the charts. They're really lightly battered with a tempura-style cornstarch and water mixture, and then if you get them "hot", they come with a super unique and really fantastic spicy Korean hot sauce.

You won't find a bigger advocate for boneless wings than @PurplePride92.

If I'm really craving wings, FABD in Louisville would be my first choice. Their smoked wings are the best I've ever had. Perfect level of spice, and fall off the bone tender.

    I also like Rooster's wings.

BDub's is the "wing restaurant" of choice because of the Caribbean jerk and wedges with cheese.

I'll eat boneless, but only when I want wings but am feeling lazy.

It depends on what toy they are passing out with the Happy Meals too, doesn’t it?

The FABD wings sound wonderful. I love smoked wings.

Let's set the record straight. There is no such thing as a boneless wing. It's a chicken nugget.

Agreed. I’m also the type of person who will order boneless wings at times as well. But yeah they are definitely not “wings.”

Daughter really likes the Back Door’s wings. I’m partial to Momma’s. And the wings at Drakes aren’t bad.
