    How do the NASCAR Playoffs work?

    I have some idea but I am still lost.

    Every driver that made the post-season starts with 2,000 points + their bonus points from wins and stage victories during the season. Martin Truex starts with 2053 (53 bonus points for the year) and is the current leader. There are designated rounds in the playoffs and the bottom four drivers will be eliminated at the end of each round. A race winner gets five bonus points for the playoffs and those bonus points stay with the driver thru all rounds (a change this year). When they get to Miami, the top four drivers will remain. That is the cliff notes version of the NASCAR playoffs from your resident football gearhead.
