Default The Brickyard 400...I am going...

I have never been to a Nascar race, and actually am a semi fan of the sport in general. I have always said that I wouldn't pay to go to a race. Friends of mine had always said that I would absolutely get hooked. Well, a customer of mine called me yesterday and asked me if I was interested in going. I followed it up with asking how much it was going to cost me. He said, "I didn't say anything about $$$, so NADA"....I went home, asked momma, and got the hall pass. We leave at 6am Sunday morning, and are taking an RV, I am not driving. We got a bunch of food from work, this is going to be an awesome trip for sure. Anybody got any information on what to watch for, etc?

NE KY- Its the engine not the horn that makes the car move.

RockPride, I know you'll have a great time. My favorite part of being at the track is the starting of the engines...go to this website http://www.nascar.com/#PitCommand and check out the video Nascar 24/7 Track Report by Riki Rachtman as well as the Fantasy Report:Indianapolis. Enjoy!!!!

Too Bad your first race was such a dud. NASCAR continues to screw up a good thing. Today display was nothing short of a Vince McMahon WWE Farce. I am a huge fan of auto racing and have been since the mid 70's. NASCAR has not always been my favorite, but I have enjoyed many races at several venues including the first ever running of the Brickyard. But, today's race is just one example of how NASCAR continues to slowly destroy the series.

I hope you did enjoy your experience and that you enjoyed your visit to The Speedway, I just hate that the racing was horrible.

I do know one thing for sure, after today, NASCAR fans can not say anything about "boring" Open Wheel races. Today's race was a real snoozer.

IMO today's race wasn't NASCAR's fault it was all on Goodyear for bringing such a terrible tire. I really feel sorry for someone if they paid to see today's race.

I think if I had attended the race today, and paid my hard earned money to see a "Race", I would write NASCAR and request my money back. The longest number of green flag laps today without a yellow was only 12 laps.

I just got home from me very first, auto race....I will say that I did indeed a blast. We were right between the 3rd and 4th turns....there were a lot of "Derby-esque" affairs going on. That said, I had a great time, all the while being perturbed about the cautions, but I also understand that the drivers' safety is first in line. Also, it enabled for there to be an awesome last ten laps. All in all, I had a blast, and will be back.

In order to understand my train of thought you have to put yourself in my position. You can't expect me to think like you because my life is not like yours.

52 laps of 160 were under caution...That must have sucked.

The only good thing about that would be it gave all of the beer drinkers time to run to bathroom and not miss any of the race.
