    Vote for Ashland Middle School!

Samsung is promoting a national competition to solve problems for tomorrow in their local communities. I typically wouldn't post a shameless plug for my former middle school, but they are the only Kentucky school that made the national finals so I feel like it's okay. If it's not a mod can feel free to delete the thread.

There is more information at the link below as well as videos each finalist produced to demonstrate their idea.

The kids at Ashland middle school won the Samsung competition and appeared on the Today show this morning. Congrats to our future Tomcats/Kittens.

Congratulations Ashland Middle School! That is an impressive win. Thank you for sharing this JDE.

Am I reading this correctly, $150k in hardware and software for the school? Wow!

$150k was the grand prize, I believe there were some other prizes along the way to the national finals, including computers/software etc. If you notice in the video most if not all of the equipment they are using was made by Samsung.

It's a really good story and I'm really proud of those kids, teachers and administrators that made this possible. Don't forget the local first responders as well that helped give ideas for the final product. I'm not sure who put the video together but that was awesome as well.

I'm not sure if a patent is in the works for this device, but in my opinion there should be before someone else steals their idea and sells it to first responders all over the country.
