Seeking Trade Skill Apprenticeship for my 17 yr old son.

My soon to be 18 yr old son is burned out on swimming and needs to do something productive with the rest of his summer/fall. He needs to branch out and find out what he is good at. He has the grades for college, but I would like him to persure both paths to discover where his passions lie. We are in Florence.

    Plumbing/Construction/Electrician/HVAC/Carpentry etc

    Thank You!

That would normally be a good idea, but with the B-S bridge closing for 2 months, he needs to stay on this side of the river.

Maybe he could enroll at Gateway for the summer and dabble in one of the trades they teach. They have welding, AC, plumbing, electrical, automotive, etc...

Better to be paid to learn than pay to learn. Thanks though.

My son is older, just turned 19 and is working at Home Depot during summer break. He is working in the lumber section and has already learned a ton about contracting, building, wood working etc. It is definitely a good summer job and hopefully he will continue to appreciate the opportunity to go away for college.
