Ok, so I'm compiling our lists of possible 16U team tryouts for next month...

Are there ANY other teams local to NKY that you all know about...softballzone has a ton, but they are all ohio based and 50 miles from us...

Great idea. I would also be interested in hearing when tryouts are for 14U and 12U teams from NKY and the tristate area. What about the KY Bandits and KY Naturals as well as the teams mentioned? What about the Doom? Any others?

2012/2013 16U Louisville Lady Slugger Tryouts

Date: August 19th, 2012

Time: 1:00-4:00 pm

Location: Mercy Academy, 5801 Fegenbush Lane, Louisville, KY, 40228

What to bring: bring all equipment and dress to play a game. In case of inclement weather, bring tennis shoes. It is suggested that you bring a small snack to eat during breaks. Water coolers will be provided.

Warm-Ups: The field will be available for warming up at 12:30

Pitchers/Catchers: Pitchers and catchers should be prepared to stay after if needed. Pitchers need to have someone prepared to warm them up if there are not enough catchers.

Additional Info: There will be a parent meeting after tryouts to discuss team goals, expectations, and additional information. It is important that at least one person be present for each child to hear this information.

What complex is this being played at? The last time I was in O'Fallon, Ill I played in the 1991 Men's NSA Indoor World Series (we won it by the way). Wondering if it is the same place. The indoor facility was "sweet", all turf except for the areas around 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & home. Always wondered why this area never had an indoor facility? Especially since men's slow-pitch was so popular back then.

Not sure of the complex. I assume it will be outdoor, although I could be wrong.

At the Yard looking at having a Select 14u and 10U teams next year...In discussion stages right now, more to follow....

If you want to get seen by D1 coaches that schedule there will do it. There are not 4 better touneys in the fall in our part of the country than those 4. Most people believe that fall ball is just laid back and not as serious as summer ball. Fall ball is where most coaches do there recruiting. I saw more coaches last fall than I did last summer.

What to bring: All equipment and dress to play a game. Please bring your own water and a small snack to eat during breaks.

Warm-Ups: The field will be available for warming up at 9:30am.

Pitchers/Catchers: Should be prepared to stay after if needed. Pitchers need to have someone prepared to warm them up if there are not enough catchers.

Any confirmation on who will be coaching 18u team? I am hearing rumors that the present coach wants a limited role next season.

How did the 18u tryouts shape up? I heard that one of their better players went to a different team.

Any word on this team. Tryouts are coming and going fast, will be hard to field a team if they do not have it set up yet.

This team will be holding tryouts this Saturday from 9am-12pm at Municipal field in Cold Spring, KY (Northern KY).*

We are coached by two former college players. One now coaches high school and the other coaches college softball.*

Team is made up of several up and coming players in NKY. We are looking to fill multiple spots for next season, including adding a pitcher to the roster.

Team has been togtether for two years now.*

Our plan is to play a competitive schedule highlighting showcase events next summer to get the girls exposure and prepare them for their future softball goals.*
