NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC ANNOUNCES FUNDRAISER SCRIMMAGE WITH COVCATH TO BENEFIT TEAM “B”elieve
Newport Central Catholic High School announces a fundraiser football scrimmage versus Covington Catholic on Friday, August 11, 2017. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm at Covington Catholic. Proceeds will benefit Team “B”elieve and A.L.S. Research.
Team “B”elieve is an organization that was established to support NCC Alum Brian “B” Eviston ’96 and his family as he battles A.L.S., more commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, as well as to support the broader A.L.S. community. The scrimmage is part of the Tom Potter Classic and all proceeds from the gate receipts as well as a “Split the Pot” will support Team “B”elieve. Cost of admission will be $6 for adults and $4 for students.
The Team “B”elieve Committee states that “with the help of both NCC and CovCath and their football programs, we are excited to rally the support of both of these tremendous school communities that are very dear to the Eviston family. We thank you all in advance for your support of Team “B”elieve and we appreciate you standing up with us as we help “B” fight this terrible disease.”
Brian Eviston, a 1996 graduate of NewCath, is the brother of former NCC head football coach Eddie Eviston ’97. Eddie is the head football coach at Covington Catholic.
