    D1 volleyball recruiting tip

**disclaimer: D1 is not the end-all-be-all. There are many levels of college volleyball that can get your college paid for and still let you play the game you love. Only you can decide which is best for you.

ugh..I continue to see good players in clubs that don't play an "open" level schedule. My advice to you 13's, 14's, 15's, and 16's out there that want to get recruited at the D1 level is this: get into a club that plays at the "open" level and travels to the large qualifiers. You will greatly increase your D1 recruiting chances because you will be going against better competition, and you will be seen by more coaches, especially more D1 coaches. I'm not saying you can't get recruited playing in a smaller club or playing regionally, but it will lower your chances. Being on a 2's or 3's team in the right club is sometimes a better option than a 1's team elsewhere. Look at the tournaments you will be entering, and the level your team will be playing at in those tournaments.
