What is the big difference between gold and silver? I'm sure level of competition is a factor, however, those teams that are playing on a circuit should be happy to play among the countries best, the opportunity shouldn't be taken lightly as most AAU teams start off as an dream that comes into a reality. Furthermore, I'm sure there is a competition difference between Gold and silver but trust me there will be some coaches watching silver's games if they have players.
Excited to see Hoop dreams roster, they run great program and I have enjoyed watching that program grow into one of the more prestigious programs in the country

Gold division has the top teams and players, is played at the main sites (feature courts) and have full sponsorships. Silver is played mainly off-site (with a few exceptions for sure) and is more like Hoop Dreams was a year or two ago when we had a small sponsorship and had to work to get a better deal.
Agree that Silver will draw coaches eyes but if you have ever been to a big AAU tournament you know that coaches like to be able to stay onsite all day. They're more likely to watch a Hoop Dreams v. Indiana Elite game at the main gym than they are to drive 15-20 minutes away for a game between the Colorado Chaos and Manimal.
Obviously a kid like Peyton Broughton will have plenty of coaches to come and see him play wherever he is but the kids who benefit most from Gold Division is a kid like a Pedro Bradshaw who is largely unknown right now but could see plenty of scholarship offers if he has a good April in front of the right sets of eyes.
Hope that makes sense.

Oddly quiet on the AAU front. Half the state will be eliminated from postseason play by Saturday. Hopefully we get some more lively threads on here

Feb 21, 16, 11:24 PM #57[QUOTE=ABBPlayer;5858759]Have you seen them play? Everyone on that team except Coldiron, is a guard/wing type
. Sorry I guess I view the majority of them as 3's and 4's outside of Ohmer and Deatheridge. Macke and Allen probably could play the 2 well with their 3pt shooting capabilities. I haven't seen Walters in a couple yrs but always viewed him as a 3 or 4. If they are fully stocked that's great...best of luck on the circuit. What happened to the 2 Campbell Co boys? Lawrence and Harrod.
