By All State Baseball - That was quick. The regular season went by like the blink of an eye. The post season, a.k.a district tournament begins next week. Their was a few changes throughout the season but the top 5 was pretty much intact all season long. With that being said, let's take a look back at week 12, the final week of the 2018/19 regular season in the 14th region and a look ahead at the district tournament previews. 1) Knott County Central (20-9): 91-67 L at Knox Central. 10th Region Week 11 in Review - It's Still The Big 2

By mcpapa - As we head into the final week of the season - a week that will see many squads take it easy as we approach the post-season, here's a look back at a week that settled all of the district brackets and produced one historic result. 1. Campbell County (22-4, 10-0 region, 3-0 37th District). The Camels had already sewn up the top seed in next week's district tournament and could have coasted; but instead went 4-0; toppled one of the powerhouses of the neighboring 9th region, and advanced to the number 2 spot in the most recent Cantrall state rankings. Campbell shot a blistering 31 of 48... Read More →

9th Region Week 11 Review: Can't wait till next week!!!!

By PP1 - Folks, it’s been a fun ride. I have come to the realization that after week 9, I have run out of interesting stories to talk about. I also secretly loathe the final week of the regular season because everyone is hyped up for the district tournament and every time I go to a gym I am sitting through a senior night ceremony. There was not a lot of drama last week. The biggest news was St. Henry giving a loss to the Newport Wildcats at Newport. As far as games this week, Beechwood playing at Highlands should be a good one and Cov-Cath travels to Simon Kenton on Tuesday. The top 7 spots... Read More →

11th Region Week 11 Review

By mooremiller31 - As we head toward the final week of the regular season all the district seeds are in place and the top teams in the region look to make a push towards that ever elusive region championship. Some big wins for top region teams over the week and the return of a star are the highlights of this week's review. TEAM RANKINGS 1. Scott County (27-1) - The Cardinals continued their winning ways this week picking up 2 wins over Woodford County and Clay County and running their winning streak to 14 games in a row. The Cardinals have locked up the 1 seed in the 42nd District and now will get Michael... Read More →

7th Region Week 11 Review - Trinity strong, Waggener not losing, Male maybe the best

By Smallhoops - While the Seventh Region tournament has been dominated by Trinity and Ballard the past several years, things look to be different this year. Trinity and Ballard certainly are contenders once again, but teams like Waggener, which already has won more games than any other Waggener team in history, and Male, which beat both Trinity and Ballard in a 7-day span, are also serious contenders. Seneca, Central and St. X cannot be written off. It is going to be a good Seventh Region tournament. But we have both another week of the regular season and district tournament week before we get there. ... Read More →

13th Region Week 11 Review

By Les - 1. South Laurel (24-2 overall, 15-0 vs. 13th Region competition) The Cardinals are winners of eight in a row and 23 of their last 24 games. Coach Jeff Davis has dine a fantastic job with this year’s team, and has South Laurel in a fine position to capture another 13th Region championship. Players such as JJ Ramey, Matt Cromer and Brett Norvell have been solid contributors the entire season, but Micah Anders, Alex Hostettler, Landon Wombles and Peyton Parker have been stepping up as well. 2. Knox Central (23-4, 8-2) Just a few weeks ago, many were ready to write off the Panthers. Knox... Read More →

8th Region Week 11 Review - Chaos to the End

By ColonelMike - 8th Region Week 11 Review – Chaos to the End As the result of a crazy week that actually seemed to clear a few things up (a little), the rankings are going to see their biggest upheaval of the season this week. #1 remains #1, but a whopping 12 of 17 teams moved at least one spot this week, with Simon Kenton and Carroll County each making the biggest moves as each tumbled three spots. The rankings could yet turn out to be as bogus as a $3 bill, but they should serve as fodder for plenty of debate. (Just remember, reasonable people can disagree!) I can’t tell you how long I debated... Read More →

5th Region Week 11 Review: Teams Gearing Up For Postseason

By Sportslover32 - 1. John Hardin (28-0): The Bulldogs did this week what they have done all year which is win as they won all three games this week. They beat Bardstown on the road 83-63, they beat district foe North Hardin 58-51 on the road and beat Nelson County 86-61 on the road. John Hardin took care of business this week and did everything they was supposed to do. They are ranked second in the state in a lot of polls which is the highest they have ever been in programs history. In the win over Bardstown Aaron Scott led the team with 20 points. 2. Larue County (21-4): The Hawks played three games this... Read More →

1st Region Week 11 Review

By silo11 - There are three teams that look like they have a strong chance to win the Region 1 tournament. McCracken County, Mayfield, and Graves County have shown that they have what it takes to win it. All three teams have played at a high level during the year and will need their best to win. There are some teams that can throw a wrench into any of those teams dreams so it will not be a cake walk to get to that finals game. For now, here is this weeks rankings: 1. McCracken County – Coach Burlin Brower BGP #9 2018-19 record: 25-3 Week’s Record: 3-0 The Mustangs continue their impressive... Read More →

12th Region Week 11 Review: Regular Season Winding Down

By TDC - The final week of the regular season is upon us, and the 12th Region has lived up to the preseason billing of being wide open and having several teams with legitimate shots at taking the Region crown. Despite each enduring a down week where they looked imminently beatable, both Danville and Wayne County have demonstrated the most consistent performance and currently deserve to be considered Region tournament co-favorites. District play comes first, of course, and the Cardinals have a much easier path (they’re already in) to the Region Tournament than the Admirals, who will have to survive a... Read More →

2nd Region Week 11 Review

By silo11 - University Heights and Madisonville-North Hopkins continue to show they are the class of Region 2. As the season finishes up this week, the Blazers and Maroons have dominated the entire 2nd region and the only time they played each other, it took everything out of both teams and a last second shot for UHA to come away with the one point victory. Hopkinsville and Christian may have a chance to make some noise, but it is slim at best. This season it will come down to two teams. History is on UHA’s side as District 8 has one 16 straight region 2 titles. Here are the rankings for this week.... Read More →

16th Region Week 11 Review: Elliott County Remains On Top

By Carson Palmer - Believe it or not we have reached the final week of the regular season. Elliott County remains unblemished in regional play as the potential contenders continue to topple each other on a weekly basis. Rowan County took two losses this past week while Boyd County and East Carter saw winning streaks snapped as well. Lewis County has reeled off six straight wins to position themselves as contenders in March. Here is a look at this week's ratings: 1. ELLIOTT COUNTY (20-3) The Lions were challenged by both Morgan County and Boyd County and once again responded in typical Elliott County fashion.... Read More →

This week: 2/14 (Thurs) at Knox Central. Previous Rank: #1 The Patriots went 2 out of 3 this past week, picking up wins over two district foes, June Buchanan 93-50 and Corida 93-66.
